Sioux Falls Police Fire At Vehicle That Nearly Hits Officers

(Sioux Falls, SD) — The Sioux Falls Police Department says a fleeing vehicle was fired on after the driver nearly hit two officers. The incident happened late yesterday afternoon after an officer tried to stop the minivan for a traffic violation near Eleventh Street and Phillips Avenue. The vehicle took off and officers called in the incident noting an address near Paulson Avenue and Southeastern Avenue. Officers tried to speak to the driver there, who then rammed a patrol car and nearly hit two officers while driving away, drawing fire from an officer. The driver and vehicle haven’t been found and the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the officer-involved shooting.
