Wild Retiring Koivu’s Number

(St. Paul, MN) — No Minnesota Wild player will ever wear the number nine again. The team announced that it is retiring Mikko Koivu’s number on March 13th. His number nine will be the first number retired by the Wild. Koivu played for the Wild between 2005 and 2020, and he was the team’s captain for 12 seasons. He is also Minnesota’s all-time leader in total points. The Wild host the Coyotes tonight.
