(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota’s six public universities are generating over two billion dollars in revenue for the state. The 2019 revenue figures were released last Wednesday, with an analysis showing the universities also created more than 12-thousand jobs in the state. The study focuses on student and visitor speaking along with operational spending to figure out economic growth. Board of Regents President John Bastian says the analysis shows that the schools are making an impact on their communities and keeping graduates in the state, promoting growth in South Dakota’s workforce and economy.
