Haugaard Wants Bern Released From NDA

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota Republican candidate for governor Stave Haugaard says he wants Sherry Bren released from her Non-Disclosure Agreement. Bren signed the agreement after settling an age discrimination lawsuit with the state last year. Haugaard says Governor Kristi Noem should undo the NDA for the sake of transparency and so Bren can freely answer questions posed by a committee of lawmakers. Bren is caught up in a controversy over a meeting she attended at the Governor’s mansion in July 2020 where Noem and her daughter Kassidy Peters were present. Bren was the director of the South Dakota Appraiser Certification Program at the time and Peters was seeking her appraiser’s license.
