Elevate Rapid City CEO Notes Economic Impact Of Indigenous Tribes

(Rapid City, SD) — The CEO of Elevate Rapid City is noting the significant economic impact of indigenous tribes on the local economy. The Lakota National Invitational Tournament got underway yesterday, bringing indigenous basketball players and their families and fans from across the region into the city. Tom Johnson says last year’s cancellation of the tournament was felt in the city’s economy. Johnson says spending by members of the Native American communities throughout the year adds about a hundred million dollars into the area economy and accounts for about 15-hundred jobs.
