Standing Rock, Federal Agency Opposing Appeal On Dakota Access Pipeline

(Washington, DC) — The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and a federal agency are opposing an appeal in the U.S. Supreme Court of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The project developer is appealing to the high court to have a federal permit restored for the line’s Missouri River crossing. The five-year dispute has attracted national attention after widely attended protests in the area where the pipeline would cross the Missouri in North Dakota. Justices are expected to decide early next year whether to take up the case.
