Senate Minority Whip Thune Considering Retirement

(Washington, DC) — The second highest Republican in the Senate is considering retirement. The New York Times reports South Dakota’s John Thune has been telling people in his home state that 2022 may be his final year in Congress. Thune has been weighing family issues while also reflecting on the influence former President Donald Trump has in the party as a whole. Fox News reports that Thune will likely announce his political future by the end of the year.
