According to the most recent labor report, jobless claims dropped in the last week from 456 to 451 and the state’s unemployment rate stands at two-point-seven percent. The national average is four-point-two percent. Governor Kristi Noem has attributed the low jobless rate to the state’s decision to stay open while other shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic.
