Vikings Playoff Chances Take Hit In Loss

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Vikings failed to recover an onside kick with a half-minute left to play in their 30-23 loss to the Rams at US Bank Stadium. Los Angeles returner Brandon Powell had a 61-yard punt return touchdown in the third quarter that put the Rams up by two possessions, and the LA kept Minnesota at an arm’s length the rest of the way. Kirk Cousins had 315 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception, and Justin Jefferson set the record for most receiving yards in a player’s first two seasons. On defense, Anthony Barr picked off two passes. Minnesota falls a game back of the final NFC Wild Card spot at 7-and-8. The Vikings will visit Green Bay next Sunday night.
