(Pierre, SD) — Representative Dusty Johnson is working to bring a man quarantined in West Africa home to South Dakota. Officials say 32-year-old Casey McCoy went to the West African nation of Togo to attend a friend’s wedding December 16th. McCoy tested positive for COVID prior to the flight home and has been forced to stay in Togo. Johnson says he’s contacted the U.S. Embassy in Togo about the conditions McCoy is quarantining in and how he can get home safely. McCoy was given a second COVID test yesterday to determine his status.
