Monument Health Reporting Rise In Flu Hospitalizations

(Rapid City, SD) — Monument Health in Rapid City says it is seeing a spike in flu-related hospitalizations. Officials say flu cases statewide this season are outpacing previous years. Last year’s flu season was one of the worst in South Dakota’s recent history with over 24-thousand cases and almost 550 hospitalizations. The Department of Health reported just over 19-hundred confirmed cases and two deaths as of Christmas Day.
