(Sioux Falls, SD) — Concerns about a possible food desert in Sioux Falls are prompting one agency to create a pop-up store. The closing of the Hy-Vee on Kiwanis Avenue in Sioux Falls yesterday was set to create a significant area of the city without easy access to groceries. The new pop-up store will be placed at the Multicultural Center and will provide reduced prices on name-brand groceries and toiletries. The items will be provided by the organization Fair Market, which was started eight months ago. The first day for the pop-up store will come in February at the Multicultural Center in downtown Sioux Falls.
