Federal Judge Blocks Head Start Vaccine Mandate In South Dakota

(Pierre, SD) — A federal judge is ruling in favor of the state of South Dakota, and the 23 other states, that filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s mandate requiring Head Start Early Education workers to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The preliminary injunction also blocks a requirement that students, ages two and older, wear masks while indoors. The two-dozen plaintiffs argued that the Federal Department of Health and Human Services lacked the authority to adopt the Head Start rules and, therefore, violated the U.S. Constitution.
