South Dakota Returns Millions in Unused Housing Assistance Funds

(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota has returned about 22-million dollars in unused housing assistance funds to the federal government because not enough people applied for the assistance. The state had received about 271-million dollars in federal housing aid for people who had been hit hard and were struggling because of the pandemic. The money the state returned will be reallocated to other states that are in need. The program will continue to offer aid until 2025.
