Schools Close, Reinstitute Mask Mandates as COVID-19 Surges

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Schools across South Dakota are reinstating mask mandates and, in some cases, closing as the latest COVID-19 wave sweeps the nation. The Custer School District is closing Monday to combat the rise in coronavirus cases. The Canistota School District has announced it’s doing a five-day refresh and rescheduling athletic events the week of January 24th. The Ethan School District has posted on social media it’s closing for five days because of the COVID-19 surge.
