North Dakota Governor Joins Others In Call For Oil Independence

(Bismarck, ND) — Governor Doug Burgum is joining governors from across the country, calling on President Biden to increase U.S. oil production. Specifically, the governors are asking the president to lift bans on new oil and gas development on federal land. Additionally, the group is calling on the president to lift the ban on the building of the Keystone XL pipeline. In a joint statement, Burgum and the other governors said, “We can protect our national energy security and sell to our friends rather than buy from our enemies, specifically Russia.”
