Fire Damages Sioux Falls Church

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A Sioux Falls church is damaged after a fire. The blaze broke out Sunday after service at St. Michael’s Ethiopian Orthodox Church in the 16-hundred block of South Marion Road. Church members were gathered in the basement for fellowship when a loud boom alerted them to the danger above them. Everyone escaped the building unharmed. The main floor suffered significant damage and the basement has moderate smoke damage. Members are deciding how to move forward, and are hoping for community support to bring the church back. The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
