SD Senate Advances Bill Limiting CRT-Related “Divisive Concepts” In Colleges

(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota Senate is advancing legislation that would limit the use of “divisive concepts” in the state’s colleges. The concepts listed in the bill are components of critical race theory. The Board of Regents and some university officials say the theory is not widely taught in South Dakota’s institutions of higher education. The bill is now headed to the desk of Governor Kristi Noem, who has indicated she will sign it.
