ND Lawmakers Respond To Russian Oil Import Ban

(Bismarck, ND) — The three Republican members of North Dakota’s congressional delegation and Governor Doug Burgum are urging the Biden administration to increase domestic oil production after banning Russian oil imports. Senator Kevin Cramer says the ban is necessary to deplete Vladimir Putin’s war chest as he continues with an invasion into Ukraine. Congressman Kelly Armstrong says the U.S. shouldn’t use this time to rely on foreign oil from other sources. Senator John Hoeven says the import ban is an important way to put pressure on Putin. Governor Doug Burgum echoes the delegation’s call for higher domestic oil production, especially in North Dakota.
