ND Officials Using New Strategies As COVID Cases Decrease

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota officials are using new strategies to deal with COVID-19 now that cases have decreased. Governor Doug Burgum said yesterday that the state is preparing to move from a pandemic response to an endemic response. An endemic happens when virus patterns become more stable even though the it is still present in society. The move comes almost two years after the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in North Dakota. National Guard support for hospital operations will end next Thursday. Officials say the state is remaining ready in case of a new COVID-19 surge or new variant.
