(Belcourt, ND) — Some Turtle Mountain residents are experiencing water issues. Letters were sent at the end of February to some residents saying their water system had violated a drinking water standard. The letter explains that the water had slightly more Trihalomethanes than is allowed by accepted standards. The notice says that work is being done to correct the issue and that it is not an emergency. Officials say a person would have to consistently drink the contaminated water for years to cause health issues. They say to bring any health concerns to a doctor.
