(Bismarck, ND) — The Lower Heart River Water Resource District is asking for federal assistance for a flood management project. The District is seeking a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to recertify the Lower Heart River levee system. The grant would bring down the local share of the project’s cost by over 19-million dollars. The levee system is responsible for protecting Mandan from Heart River flooding.
