(Eagan, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings are locking down their quarterback and bringing down their salary cap number. On Sunday, the team agreed to terms on a one-year extension with Kirk Cousins that will keep him in Minnesota through the 2023 season. Cousins will make 40-million dollars in 2022 and 30-million dollars in 2023. All the money is fully-guaranteed, and the contract adds two voidable years which bring Cousins’ cap number down by about 15-million dollars this season. Cousins had a strong 2021 season, completing over 66-percent of his passes for 4,221 yards, 33 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions.
