(Rapid City, SD) — The Veterans Administration is targeting its Sturgis and Hot Springs medical centers for closure. The VA is recommending that the two centers be consolidated into a new facility in Rapid City. The proposed Rapid City VA medical center would be the primary location for care. A new 46-bed residential rehabilitation treatment program and a 54-bed community living center would be located by the new facility. Rapid City’s current outpatient clinic would close once the new VA hospital opens.
