(Eagan, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings may be placing on of their best defensive players on the trading block. The Star Tribune reports that the team is taking offers for defensive end Danielle Hunter. Minnesota is trying to make the move to free up more cap space, as Hunter has a cap hit of over 25-million dollars for 2022. The 27-year-old has been limited to just seven games over the past two seasons, and he had six sacks last season before suffering a torn pectoral muscle in week eight.
The Vikings also announced a pair of free agent signings yesterday. The team agreed to terms with former Broncos offensive lineman Austin Schlottmann and former Rams tight end Johnny Mundt. Schlottmann has started seven games in his three-year career, while Mundt caught one pass for nine yards last season.
