(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota is seeing a jump in overdose deaths. There was a 27 percent increase in overdose deaths in the last reporting year, with nearly 100 people dying in the state. The CDC reported recently that overdose deaths in the United States reached a record high in the previous year, with over 105-thousand victims. The agency says two-thirds of those deaths involved synthetic opioids.
