Public Transit An Option To Filling The Gas Tank

(Fargo, ND) — Rising gas prices are having a direct effect on transit systems. As it costs more to fill up the gas tank, many commuters are turning to public transportation. Officials with MATBUS say about six weeks ago, they started to see a rise in ridership with about 19-percent more people taking the bus. During a similar situation in 2008, MATBUS saw a 12-percent increase in ridership.
