Judge Declares Mistrial After Jurors In Bismarck Murder Case Fail To Agree On Verdict

(Bismarck, ND) — A new trial date is pending after a Bismarck judge declared a mistrial yesterday in a local murder case. Court officials say 37-year-old Kevin Hartson and 27-year-old Devante Evans were facing murder charges for their alleged roles in the fatal shooting of a third man inside a Bismarck apartment last year. Defense attorneys reportedly argued that exonerating evidence was either ignored or improperly presented. Following deliberations, jurors declared they were deadlocked and were unable to reach a unanimous verdict, which prompted Judge Daniel Borgen to end the trial.
