ND Supreme Court Hearing Pore Space Arguments

(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota Supreme Court is considering an appeal related to small rock cavities used by the energy industry. Justices heard arguments yesterday from the state and oil producer Continental Resources, who want the court to issue a ruling upholding a law allowing energy companies to use rock cavities known as pore spaces for energy storage. The Northwest Landowners Association brought the original suit and won a ruling in District Court striking down the law in 2021.
