(Rapid City, ND) — A Pennington County Deputy’s quick thinking helped save members of a family from a house fire. Deputy Thomas Mossman saw a fire at the beginning of his shift last night and called it into the fire department. Mossman saw a man and several children run from the home and went in to assist, pulling an adult male out of the house and rescuing a two-and-a-half-year-old from a crib. The home was a total loss. Some valuables and clothes were able to be saved from the blaze. There were no injuries and the people who lived in the house are staying with family.
