Committee Releases Ravnsborg Investigative File

(Pierre, SD) — The House Select Committee on Investigation is releasing its files on the proposed impeachment of South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg. A redacted public version of the files was posted yesterday on the Legislative Research Council. The panel investigated whether Ravnsborg committed an impeachable offense during or after a September 2020 crash where a car he was driving hit and killed a pedestrian near Highmore. The documents include photos of victim Joe Boever’s broken glasses, which were found in Ravnsborg’s vehicle. The committee voted six to two Monday night against recommending the attorney general’s impeachment. The full House will return April 12th to vote on the matter.
