FBI, BIA Investigating After Six-Year-Old Dies In Fort Totten

(Fort Totten, ND) — The FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs are coordinating efforts in an investigation into the death of a six-year-old boy on the Spirit Lake Reservation at Fort Totten. A BIA spokesperson says the boy was found unresponsive Sunday with what appeared to be multiple animal bites. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Officials haven’t confirmed the attack was by a dog, but law enforcement found the animal and opened an investigation. Family and friends say services for the boy will be held tomorrow and Saturday at Four Winds small gym.
