(Sioux Falls, SD) — Lincoln High School students are showing their support for the LGBTQ community. Fifty students walked out of class yesterday afternoon to protest several pieces of anti-LGBTQ legislation passed across the country. The group walked from the administration doors at the school, with some holding signs and wearing flags signifying aspects of the LGBTW community. Students were especially concerned about the South Dakota bill recently signed by Governor Kristi Noem that segregates school sports participation by an athlete’s sex assigned at birth. The bill takes effect July 1st.
