(Bismarck, ND) — Drought conditions are expanding in North Dakota. The U.S. Drought Monitor map released Thursday shows that the areas experiencing drought increased over two-and-a-half percent to more than 54-percent of the state. National Drought Mitigation Center Climatologist Deborah Bathke says the southwest section of North Dakota was particularly affected. Drought conditions in the state have continued for more than a year.
