(Sioux Falls, SD) — The woman convicted last year of the 1981 death of her newborn son is out on parole. Theresa Bentaas has been released from prison. She pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter last year and was given a mostly suspended sentence. She was granted parole on March 15th and the South Dakota Department of Corrections confirmed yesterday that she was free. The death of the 60-year-old’s son went unsolved for decades and became known as the Baby Andrew case.
