ND U.S. Senators, Congressman Vote To Ban Russian Oil Imports, Restrict Trade

(Washington, DC) — North Dakota’s top lawmakers are supporting efforts to put restrictions on Russia following its invasion of Ukraine. U.S. Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer along with Congressman Kelly Armstrong voted this week in favor of a bill to ban Russian oil imports and to suspend normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus. Hoeven says the legislation is part of the U.S. effort to “shut down the Russian war machine.” The Biden administration is also looking to raise tariffs on imports such as steel or aluminum products.
