(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins are making another splashy move just before the start of the 2022 season. The team is sending closer Taylor Rogers and outfielder Brent Rooker to the San Diego Padres in exchange for starting pitcher Chris Paddack and reliever Emilio Pagan. Rogers made nine saves in an injury-shortened season for Minnesota last year, but he’s due to enter free agency at the end of the year. Paddack had a 5.07 ERA for the Padres in 2021 and won’t hit free agency until after 2024. Pagan went 4-and-3 with a 4.83 ERA for San Diego last year.
