Kayla Karius To Lead South Dakota Women’s Basketball Team

(Vermillion, SD) — The University of South Dakota is hiring Kayla Karius as its next head women’s basketball coach. USD announced the pick yesterday evening. Karius will be publicly introduced this morning. She comes to USD from a position as an assistant at Drake. She previously served as an assistant for the first two seasons of former coach Dawn Plitzuweit’s time at USD. Karius’ recruiting efforts were partly responsible for bringing star players Chloe Lamb, Liv Korngable, Monica Arens, and then-New Mexico transfer Hannah Sjerven.
