Search Dog Program Welcomes Aberdeen Shelter Pup

(Aberdeen, SD) — A stray dog from Aberdeen has been accepted into the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation. Mason is a 16-month-old lab/border-collie/pit-bull mix who was brought to the local humane society by animal control. “Dakota News Now” says the staff there recognized his unique personality and reached out to the South Dakota Canine Center. Mason traveled to California where he passed his search dog evaluation. He’ll train there for about a year-and-a-half before becoming a certified search and rescue pup.
