(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg is breaking his silence after an effort to impeach him comes to a vote. Ravnsborg’s spokesman released a letter to South Dakota lawmakers last night which includes the attorney general’s defense of his actions surrounding a September 2020 crash that killed pedestrian Joe Boever. He also accuses Governor Kristi Noem in the letter of interfering with the investigation for her own political benefit. In the letter, she urges lawmakers to follow the recommendation of a House select committee against his impeachment. The vote on whether to authorize articles of impeachment against Ravnsborg is set to take place today.
