Noem Releases Department Of Corrections Investigation Findings

(Pierre, SD) — A new report indicates that South Dakota’s correctional system is prone to nepotism and favoritism. Governor Kristi Noem’s office released the findings yesterday of an investigation into the workplace culture, values, and security of the state’s prison system. The consultant hired to perform the investigation included dozens of recommendations in the report for strategies to address staff morale, retention, and scheduling. The report included a few new details about allegations of workplace misconduct which led to a series of firings last year.
