(Bismarck, ND) — The majority of North Dakota is covered in snow as a massive blizzard hit the state yesterday. Snow and wind will continue to hammer the state through Thursday. Winds are gusting as high as 50 miles per hour. Accumulations of between one and two feet are expected in much of the state, with some isolated areas in central and western North Dakota exceeding two feet of snow. The National Weather Service says temperatures will stay chilly after the storm, slowing snowmelt.
