Sioux Falls Local Election Participation Still Low

(Sioux Falls, SD) — About three-quarters of registered voters stayed home from the polls for Tuesday’s local election in Sioux Falls. Officials say nearly 29-thousand of the city’s over 122-thousand registered voters participated during this year’s local election. Local election turnout in 2018 was almost 33-percent and reached a 20-year peak of nearly 38-percent in 2006. About 30-thousand voters were expected to show up Tuesday.
