Early Voting For SD June Primary Underway

(Pierre, SD) — Early voting for South Dakota’s June primary is underway. The vote will decide which of each party’s primary candidates will win the nomination for November’s General election. The ballot also includes a measure that could change the state’s constitution. Amendment C would require any future ballot measures that change taxes or spend more than ten million dollars to receive at least 60 percent of the vote to be approved. Secretary of State Steve Barnett says he is not aware of any constitutional amendment ever being on a primary ballot before.
