(St. Paul, MN) — Jared Spurgeon is being recognized for his play and leadership on the ice. The Wild captain was named Minnesota’s nominee for the Masterton Trophy, which honors the player who best represents “perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey.” One player from each team is nominated for the award. Devan Dubnyk was the last Wild player to win the award, doing so in 2015. The trophy will be awarded between games three and four of the Stanley Cup Finals. Spurgeon and the Wild host the Coyotes tonight.
