South Dakota Supreme Court Considering Arguments On Arson Conviction

(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota Supreme Court is considering arguments in a 2021 arson case. The lawyer for Jacqueline Krouse argued yesterday that there was no basis to support her client’s conviction in the burning of her one-million-dollar home. The key issue in the case surrounds the use of information from a State Farm insurance investigation and whether that should be allowed as evidence to show Krouse intended to start the fire to collect insurance money. The city fire department investigator ruled the cause of the fire as undetermined.
