SD DOE To Keep Specifics Of Social Studies Standard Review Quiet

(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota Department of Education says it will be keeping the details of the social studies standards review process private. Officials announced yesterday that they wouldn’t be providing any more specific information about the process. The move is a reversal of a public position that promised transparency in the politically-charged process. The DOE has confirmed that Governor Kristi Noem participated in the selection of members for the new workgroup reviewing the standards.
