Governor Noem Still Target Of SD Government Accountability Board Investigation

(Pierre, SD) — Governor Kristi Noem continues to be the target of a South Dakota Government Accountability board investigation. The board decided at yesterday’s meeting after an executive session to hire an attorney to advise them about the legal issues surrounding two complaints against Noem. The complaints involve her use of the state airplane and her role in a meeting at the governor’s mansion concerning her daughter’s appraiser license. Assistant Attorney General Katie Mallery is stepping aside from her usual role advising the board to avoid a conflict of interest. The governor has been critical of Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg.
