Miguel Sano To Have Surgery

(Baltimore, MD) — The Twins are going to be without their starting first baseman for a while. Miguel Sano will undergo surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his injured left knee. Although there is no timetable for his return, Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli said that Sano could still return this season if he elected to have the surgery. Sano injured his knee against the Tigers last Tuesday during the postgame walk off celebration and missed the next three games. Sano attempted to play through the injury against the Rays on Saturday, but left mid-game and was placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday.
