(Sioux Falls, SD) — A Sioux Falls contractor is facing proposed fines by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for two separate incidents in one week. The safety violations at H and W Contracting were noted on November 16th and 22nd last year. OSHA says workers were at risk of being buried under thousands of pounds of soil while working in unprotected trenches in Tea and Salem. The agency says the contractor has a history of disregarding serious dangers related to unprotected trenches. OSHA is proposing fines of more than 200-thousand dollars.
